Product overview
An offer and its conditions on one piece.
A coupon presents one redeemable offer with its value, restrictions and validity. Loose pieces, inserted sheets and detachable booklets serve different distribution routes. If a section is removed, the benefit and required terms must stay together. A redemption code connects to the issuer’s existing workflow; print alone does not prevent repeat use.

Readable benefit
Value or entitlement is placed alongside expiry and applicable restrictions.
Distribution format
Loose pieces, perforated sheets and booklets suit different campaign handouts.
Redemption identifier
A code or serial can connect the paper offer with the issuer's validation process.
Specifications & materials
Match the Coupon Format to Distribution
Start with finished width × height in mm; tear-off dimensions if applicable. Then compare the material and construction choices below.
Use these options to prepare your specification. Material grades, weights, thicknesses and feasible dimensions are confirmed for the quoted construction. A paper weight is not a finished thickness or a strength rating.
| Parameter | Options or Information to Supply | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Finished dimensions | Compact design example: 150 × 70 mm; A6: 105 × 148 mm | Reference formats or explicitly labeled design examples. Select by the use cases below; custom trim and final construction belong in the quotation. |
| Format and component count | Loose coupons or coupons per sheet or book | Count issued credentials by batch; matched ticket and stub form one unit, with inclusive serial ranges and voids listed separately. |
| Stock | Paper or card selected for the distribution method | Compare insert weight, handling and any requirement for handwriting. |
| Offer versions | Benefit, expiry, market and restrictions | Approve each regional or language version separately. |
| Redemption data | Shared or unique identifier as specified | Confirm scanning and validation outside the print process. |
| Conversion | Loose trim, perforated sheet or booklet | Keep the full offer and essential conditions within the retained piece. |

Surface finish options
Presentation areas, not functional marks
Keep handwritten fields, stamp areas, barcodes and QR codes readable. Discuss coating or foil only on suitable non-functional artwork; check scanner performance, perforation and any security process independently.

Keep the Offer and Its Conditions on the Same Piece
Focus the review on offer-to-code matching, term readability and tear-off layout.

01 / SELECTION CHECK
Control the offer version
Approve value, currency where relevant, expiry and market restrictions together. Check terms at final trim size and keep regional versions identified, rather than using one ambiguous offer file for several markets.
02 / SELECTION CHECK
Validate redemption in the intended format
Test printed codes with the buyer's workflow. For tear-out coupons, keep the complete offer and identifier within the removable area and assess separation on the actual paper.
Coupon redemption & campaign control
Connect the printed offer to its code, terms and redemption channel
Coupons need a clear offer and conditions that remain readable after trimming, folding or handout. Decide whether redemption is manual, barcode-based or online, then test the printed code and destination before the campaign is released.
Compare dimensions and usable space
Published reference formats and labeled design examples, with their selection notes.

Read every format’s selection note
- Compact design example: 150 × 70 mm. Compact redemption-piece example; benefit, expiry and essential restrictions must stay together.
- A6: 105 × 148 mm. More room for readable terms or multiple product conditions; specify any detachable portion separately.

- Barcode, code or URL
Select the material by its finished behavior
Use paper or card that suits writing, tearing and distribution. An uncoated writing field is useful for participant details; a protected face changes ink acceptance. Select the converted stock around readable terms, clean perforation and scan performance rather than a blanket heavy-card specification.

Production checks that prevent avoidable rework
Keep validity rules with the offer
Proof the dates, minimum spend, exclusions, location and redemption limit against the campaign brief. Keep required terms legible at the finished size.
Test redemption data end to end
Scan or enter the code from a physical sample and verify the expected offer in the live test environment. Confirm quiet area, contrast and code placement.
Control edition and expiry
Label campaign versions and quantities clearly. Separate each expiry or regional edition during packing to prevent mixed distribution.
Use-case selection
Choose a configuration for the job it has to do
In-store coupon
Show the offer, store eligibility and cashier-readable code in one clean redemption area.
Trade-off: A glossy finish may create scanner glare; test it under counter lighting.
Mail-in coupon
Reserve the response or return details and make any required customer fields easy to complete.
Trade-off: Handwritten fields need a surface that accepts the intended pen.
Digital-to-print offer
Use a QR code or short URL as a secondary route and keep a readable fallback instruction.
Trade-off: A QR code cannot rescue a broken or expired destination.
Problem → cause → solution
Resolve the failure points before production
The benefit separates from its conditions
Why it happens: The tear line splits the usable offer from expiry or restrictions.
How to prevent it: Proof the detached portion as a standalone piece and keep all required redemption information with it.
Serial ranges overlap between batches
Why it happens: A new file was generated without a controlled issued-range manifest.
How to prevent it: Record start and end identifiers for each batch. Reconcile duplicates, omissions and any deliberately voided numbers before pack-out.

| Alternative | Structural difference | Selection trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Discount card | Repeated-use entitlement. | Better for ongoing membership; a coupon supports a defined promotion. |
Sampling & production
Choose a Sample That Answers Your Main Concern
A structural sample, a print proof and a finished sample answer different questions. Confirm the sample scope before approval. Free samples are prepared within 15 days; courier arrangements and transit time are separate.
Structure and material sample
Review stock and offer versions with the proposed dimensions and component count. Agree whether the sample uses production materials or substitutes. An unprinted construction sample does not approve printed color.
Print and artwork proof
Review representative artwork at finished size on the agreed proof condition. Check offer versions. A screen proof cannot establish physical feel or the performance of the finished assembly.
Complete finished sample
Assess offer-to-code matching, term readability and tear-off layout with the specified components and finishing present. Record the approved revision and any differences to resolve before production.
How to Order Coupon
Send your project brief
Send finished width × height in mm; tear-off dimensions if applicable. Specify loose coupons or coupons per sheet or book. State the number of coupons per offer, market, expiry date and data batch, delivery destination and required arrival date. Tell us which options are undecided.
Compare the quotation
Ask for pricing by coupons per offer, market, expiry date and data batch. Compare the same configuration at each quantity. The quotation should identify materials, finishing, sample scope, packing and freight, plus payment and order terms.
Review the right sample
Choose a sample that can demonstrate offer-to-code matching, term readability and tear-off layout. Confirm what the free sample includes and any differences from the intended production specification. Preparation is completed within 15 days; courier arrangements and transit time are separate.
Approve the production version
Confirm the specification, file revision and sample decisions in writing. Production scheduling follows the agreed approvals and order release conditions; changes may require a revised quote or schedule.
Confirm packing and delivery
Label offers, markets, expiries and code batches. State individual-piece and booklet counts and keep removable edges supported in bundles. Agree the destination and shipping arrangement, with production, dispatch and transit dates listed separately.
Details to Confirm in the Quotation
- Order unit and price breaks
- Specify coupons per offer, market, expiry date and data batch. Request the feasible minimum and quantity breaks for that exact configuration; a change of material, version or component count can change the price.
- Sample scope and delivery
- State whether you need a material trial, a print proof or a complete finished sample. Free samples are available, with preparation completed within 15 days. Confirm the included materials and processes; courier arrangements and transit time are separate.
- Approval and schedule
- State the required arrival date and whether versions ship together or to separate destinations. The quote must distinguish sample work, production and transit; a requested date is not a confirmed schedule.
- Packing and identification
- Label offers, markets, expiries and code batches. State individual-piece and booklet counts and keep removable edges supported in bundles.
- 01
Submit the final offer and market versions with data mapping if used. Mark removable areas so expiry, conditions and codes remain on each issued coupon.
- 02
Use the PDF/X export preset and output condition confirmed with prepress. Embed fonts and identify the approved file revision.
- 03
Check continuous-tone images at about 300 effective pixels per inch (ppi) at their final placed size. Fine linework can require a different resolution or vector artwork.
- 04
Extend trim artwork by 3 mm unless the approved template specifies otherwise. Keep structural, folding and binding clearances separate from trim bleed.
- 05
Identify named spot colors or physical references and the intended substrate. Agree proof acceptance and keep finishing separations distinct. A screen PDF does not approve printed color.
Engineering & purchasing FAQ
Questions Before Ordering Coupon
Can one artwork file cover multiple markets?
Only if its offer and restrictions are intended to be identical. Otherwise identify each market version and its quantity. Keep the approved terms and response destination tied to that specific version.
What changes when coupons are supplied in books?
Define pieces per book, sequence, retained edge and tear boundary. Every removable piece needs its own usable terms and identifier. Quoting books and quoting individual coupons are different quantity bases.
Can every coupon carry a unique code?
Provide the approved unique-code file and quantity, plus the required barcode or QR format. Test a printed example with your redemption system before releasing the batch.
Which sample should I request first?
Start with the uncertainty that could change the specification: offer-to-code matching, term readability and tear-off layout. If the concern is physical, request the relevant material or functional sample. If it is print appearance, agree a suitable proof. Confirm the sample scope before approval. Free sample preparation is completed within 15 days; courier arrangements and transit time are separate.
How should I state quantities for a quote?
Use coupons per offer, market, expiry date and data batch. Separate versions and give a delivery destination and required arrival date. This lets the quote distinguish the production quantity, packing and shipping scope.
